How does a combined visit work?
Tell us the registration and that you want an MOT and a service, and which service level you have in mind. We then confirm what can be done in one visit and how long the car is needed. We do not publish a fixed duration here, because it depends on the car and the day.

Should I book or walk in?
Ring first. A booking lets the garage plan both jobs and tell you the plan before you commit. We have not published a walk-in policy for combined visits.
Can I wait or should I drop the car off?
Ask when you book. The answer depends on the length of the combined job. A drop-off lets the garage work through both jobs without you watching the clock, and a phone call confirms when the car is ready.

The MOT is a yearly legal check. A service keeps the car in order between tests. GOV.UK says the two are not the same.
What if the car fails the MOT during a combined visit?
A fail needs dangerous or major problems. GOV.UK says you can only drive the car away if your current MOT is still valid and no dangerous problems were listed. Otherwise it must be repaired first, and driving a vehicle that failed for a dangerous problem can bring a fine of up to £2,500, a ban and three penalty points.
Because the car is already at the garage, any repair can be discussed straight away. Ask for the cost of repairs to be agreed with you before work starts.
